Are grilled lobster tails good and healthy? Yes, they are healthy and packed with nutritious components. Also, grilled lobster tails have a unique and great flavor. Let’s explore how to grill lobster tails.
Grilling lobster tails is not a complicated process. It’s easy and takes a few minutes to get the dish done. In fact, it’s one of the fast foods you can cook at night after a busy day. Here is a step-by-step guide on how you can grill lobster tails.
The first step entails choosing lobster tails for cooking. There are several species of lobster, but the common ones are Maine and Spiny Caribbean lobsters and come from cold Atlantic and warm Caribbean waters, respectively. However, the Maine lobster tails are the best because their meat is tastier and juicy.
Choose lobster tails full of meat and not hollow. Ideal tails should appear opaque and white with an intact and unbroken shell. Avoid lobster tails that have grey or green colors.
Depending on what you find in the market, you can buy either fresh or frozen lobster tails.
There are two ways of grilling lobster tails, i.e., cook it in the shell or cut it in half. A significant number prefer to slice it using a kitchen sear or a pair of scissors.
Cut down the tails in the middle of the shell to the fins. Then use your thumbs to open up the shell. Lastly, use your fingers to wiggle the flesh from the shell and leave it hanging out. Keep the fin attached to the shell.
Lobster tails are never good without a garlic butter basting sauce. You’ll need the following ingredients:
• Chopped garlic cloves
• chopped parsley
• lemon juice
Once you’ve all the ingredients, make the sauce as outlined below:
• Add butter, chopped cloves, lemon juice, and parsley to a pan.
• Place the pan over the stove to warm and melt the butter.
• Also, add pepper and salt to the pan.
• Let it cook for about 5 minutes under low heat.
Finally, you’ll add lemon juice and apply your favorite rub over the tails.
Preheat your grill for about 10-15 minutes.
Place the lobster tails on the grill. The side with meat should face down. Also, ensure your grill is over medium heat.
Let it cook for about 4-6 minutes. You should also attain some nice grill marks.
Then flip the tails and brush them with the garlic butter sauce. Once again, allow them to cook for another 5 minutes before removing them from the grill.
Ensure you attain an internal temperature of 140 degrees F.
Remove the lobster tails from the grill and serve.
When the lobster tails are done, the meat should look opaque. They should also attain an internal temperature of 140 degrees F.
Lobster tails take approximately 8-12 minutes on the grill.
It’s not a must to boil the lobster tails before grilling. However, some people drop them in a pot with boiling water for about 2 minutes before grilling them.
