Defrost/thaw and Season/ Marinate Sirloin Steak 

If your steak is stored in a freezer, you cannot marinate or cook it instantly on a griddle. Therefore, the first thing you do is defrost or thaw it until it attains room temperature. 

You can let it rest on the counter for about 20 minutes before cooking. Another way is to put it in a plastic bag and submerge it in cold water until it reaches room temperature. However, you can use warm water instead to accelerate the process. Lastly, you place the steak in the refrigerator overnight: it defrosts the steak slowly and safely. 

The other step you must not skip is marinating or seasoning your sirloin steak. Seasoning is a pretty simple process. All you need is to brush your sirloin steak with a light coat of olive oil, then evenly sprinkle salt and ground pepper. At that time, allow it to rest for about 30 minutes before you place it on a hot electric griddle.
